Antivector antibodies are detected by using specific ELISA assays. Antivector immunoglobulin (IgG) in human serum samples is detected by using ELISA plates coated with virus. Bound antivector IgG is detected by using antihuman IgG antibody conjugated to an enzyme. Neutralizing antibodies are detected by using a format similar to the infectivity assays, except that both virus and serial dilutions of human serum are inoculated onto the detector cells. Results are expressed as serum titer giving 50% neutralization of infectivity.
