BioReliance has significant experience in producing and testing gene therapy viral vectors.
|
Regulatory authorities are interested in knowing whether patients can shed adenovirus vector after treatment in clinical trials. Methods are available to detect infectious virus (such as adenovirus, vaccinia, and herpes) in whole blood, urine, throat swab, and stool samples. Samples are collected in virus transport medium. Adenovirus is detected and shed virus is quantitated by using a median tissue culture infective dose (TCID50) format that uses human 293 cells.
